Frequently Asked Questions

What is UX design?
User Experience Design is about making products that make your users feel good. Or more precisely: creating experiences that make your users want to take actions that achieve your goals.
In terms of how that happens, we can look to Wikipedia:
User experience design encompasses traditional human–computer interaction (HCI) design and extends it by addressing all aspects of a product or service as perceived by users.
To put that in more concrete terms, the field of UX design includes elements of interaction design, information architecture, computer science, user research, behavioral sciences, visual design, and all facets of the overall experience delivered to users.

Will this apply to my product?
Yes. UX applies to everything. The principles and methods you'll learn are universally applicable. Use your new skills to create great experiences on web, mobile, SAAS products, and even new-medium products like the Pebble watch or Nest thermostat.
